About our Financial Advisors

Nolan and Ron are independent fiduciary financial advisors. Being independent is something that both Ron and Nolan have wanted to do since they started in financial services, and within a few years in the industry were both able to do so. An independent advisor is not captive to a larger organization, which helps alleviate any potential bias in our recommendations. A fiduciary, by law, is required to act in the best interest of their client, doing so through more thorough training and holding licenses that allow us to charge a fee for advice rather than a commission for a sale.

We take a holistic approach to retirement planning, understanding that the decades-long process of managing a retirement requires more than only allocating investments. We specialize in the transition from working years into retirement; this is called income planning, or figuring out which accounts to get your money out of first in the most tax-efficient way possible. We also specialize in working with elder law attorneys in qualifying clients for Medicaid while protecting their assets for their estate/survivors.

  • What sets CRP Tax Services apart from other tax preparation firms?
What distinguishes us is our focus on retirees and our integrated approach to tax planning. By collaborating with a wealth management company and a Medicare independent agency, we offer a comprehensive suite of services tailored specifically for retirees, addressing their unique financial needs and concerns.
  • What documents do I need to bring for my tax preparation appointment?
To ensure a smooth tax preparation process, please bring your Social Security card, photo ID, all relevant income statements (such as W-2s, 1099s, and pension statements), documentation for deductions and credits, and any other tax-related documents you have received. For a full list of items, please call our office.
  • Can you help me with tax planning for my retirement investments?
Absolutely! Our team specializes in retirement tax planning and can assist you in optimizing your investment strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize returns. We work closely with our affiliated wealth management company to develop tailored solutions that align with your retirement goals.
  • What are the basics of your process?
We spend our first meeting doing what we call "discovery," where Ron or Nolan will ask questions about your situation, your goals, your work, your finances, what you value, and what the most important things are in your life. This usually also covers investment risk tolerances and general goals for your finances. From there, a variety of analyses will be provided to you based on your unique circumstances and we provide a second meeting going over these analyses and providing recommendations. Once recommendations are made, it's then up to you to decide if you would like to engage with our firm. If you do decide to utilize our company, we will provide at least semi-annual reviews, timely updates to investments, ongoing investment education as well as many other ancillary services as you navigate retirement.
  • How can you help me?
We offer a variety of retirement planning services to help you meet your short- and long-term goals. We will help you adjust your plans as your retirement needs change. We also help you decide and apply for benefits like Medicare, Social Security, and supplemental insurance that goes above and beyond traditional wealth management.
  • What is an independent Registered Investment Advisor?
A Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) is a person who gives investment advice for a fee. Federal and state regulations say that RIAs have a fiduciary duty, a code of ethics that guides all business dealings with their clients. This means they must always act in their clients' best interests. Independent RIAs are bound by the fiduciary standard. Being independent allows Cornerstone Retirement Partners to register with multiple insurance carriers and investment companies in order to maintain the most competitive and up-to-date lineup of investment and insurance options.
  • What is a Fiduciary?
A fiduciary is bound by federal and state laws to put client interests first. The committee for Fiduciary Standards outlines five fiduciary principles 1. A fiduciary always puts the client's interests first 2. A fiduciary acts with prudence, skill, care, diligence, and good judgement of a professional 3. A fiduciary will not mislead the client and provides conspicuous, full, and fair disclosure of all important facts 4. A fiduciary avoids conflicts of interest 5. A fiduciary fully discloses any unavoidable conflicts and fairly manages them in client accounts
